A weekend in Angelsey means rock pools, beaches, sunshine and a little sketching to my family. If you like beaches then Angelsey is a great place to explore. You can usually find a quiet beach even during the busy summer months.

The coastal scenery is stunning. The Welsh know the island as Ynys Môn and its combination of fresh air and sunshine is definitely uplifting. We have enjoyed many happy weekends on Angelsey

This little painting is one of a series of seascapes I painted on Angelsey to capture the energy of the sea.

The original was painted on a breezy day in late September ‘en plein air’ otherwise known as on the beach. I paint in acrylic on canvas and then like to go back and work quite quickly and energetically with oil pastels.

This is a hand signed and numbered limited edition, Giclee fine art print. Part of a 150 edition.
